Because of the outbreak of coronavirus and COVID-19, and due to the health and safety of our athletes, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters, Valor Games Far West 2020 is cancelled. No dates have been set for future events.
This event is for any injured, ill, or wounded Veteran or active duty service member who is eligible for VA healthcare, and lives in the Western Region of the United States. The goal of the Valor Games is to introduce adapted sports to attendees in order to promote ongoing adapted sport participation in their community.
Valor Games Far West is the only Valor Games event that is offered west of the Rocky Mountains. It provides consistently high-quality experiences for the athletes. The sport competitions showcases over 100 injured, ill, and wounded Veterans and active duty service members.
More than 500 injured, ill, and wounded Veterans have competed in Valor Games Far West since its inaugural year in 2013. Over the past two years, competition was offered in archery, biathlon, cycling, field events, and powerlifting. Four Paralympic sports clubs and many fine California organizations that provide adaptive sports contribute the required expertise, coaching, training, equipment and volunteers to make the event a resounding success. The event boasts support from sponsors including Wounded Warrior Project, Operation Rebound, The Independence Fund, Kaiser Permanente, USAA, and Pepsi CO.
